Biography

Art Practice:

I am a mixed media artist working mostly with acrylic media, image transfers, text, artifacts and found objects. More recently I have expanded my practice to include installations, photography and video. My art making involves the research and interpretation of personal and / or public histories. Collaborating with writer Abby Cowan and film maker James Cowan has become an important component of my more recent work.

Personal:

I was born on July 9, 1963, in Bonn, Germany. Having immigrated to Canada in the mid seventies I have made Vancouver my home for the past 35 years.

Education:

I am currently enrolled in the ASC-Painting Program at Emily Carr University of Art And Design.

In the past I have studied under Vancouver based artists Jennifer Judge, Margaretha Bootsma, Diane Evans, Martin Guderna & Jeanne Krabbendam.

I received my Bachelor of Architecture degree from the U.B.C. School of Architecture in 1991. I am a registered Architect with the AIBC and am currently an Associate at DGBK Architects.

I continue to pursue my artistic alter ego in tandem with my career.
